Woman In Digital: Figaro Lunch Meals: Sweet Pork Katsu & Chicken Curry w/Pineapple Chutney

“What’s for lunch?” – a favorite question when clock strikes to twelve! Problem when not at home is spending more of my time before I finally decide where to eat. Good thing there are a lot of restaurants now offering lunch/dinners sets for people with small appetite like me. Even coffee shops nowadays are not just for our usual dose of caffeine and desserts.

As of this writing, some of us already tried the new lunch meals at Figaro, a Filipino coffee company.

Sweet Pork Katsu (P160) crusted with panko bread crumbs drizzled with mayo barbeque sauce.

Chicken Curry with Pineapple Chutney (P160) – a combination of spicy curry with sweet pineapple make this dish really taste.

Between the two my favorite is the Chicken Curry with Pineapple Chutney. With pineapple chutney and crispy vegetable side dish it offers an unusual chicken curry experience. Spiciness is just mild. Meat is flavorful probably because of the pineapple. It also comes with a 12oz ice-cold Lemonade.

Figaro Mushroom Soup (P65) – creamy mushroom soup with warm crusty French bread.

We always wanted our lunch and dinner served with creamy or clear soup. That’s probably one of the reasons why most of us love sinigang and nilaga. Figaro launched creamy mushroom soup with warm crusty French bread, a perfect treat for the rainy season. It’s creamy and goes well with their new lunch meals, however I find it a bit expensive for P65.

I was able to try their new beverages called Figaro Frappe (16oz at P130 / 20oz at P150). It comes in four variants, the White Chocolate Mocha, Figaroccino Cookie Crumble, Figaroccino Caramel Chips and Choco Chips Java.

Figaroccino Caramel Chips has mild coffee flavor compared to Figaroccino Cookie Crumble. I was expecting much sweetness and less coffee flavor with the latter. Good thing, boyfriend offered me to try the Figaroccino Caramel Chips which turn out to be my favorite drink that evening.
