Siew Mai, siopao, noodles – these are just few of the many Chinese comfort food we Filipinos love to eat.
On December 12, I am fortunate to be invited at the grand opening and store blessing of Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe, a Chinese restaurant that finally arrives in the Philippines and now opens its first branch at the SM Mall of Asia (just beside IMAX).
Xin Wang Hong Kong Café has 200 favorite dishes that most cafes in Hong Kong and Macau offer.
I love the interiors, very cool and hip! It’s very spacious. They have lots of tables and chairs which means they can accommodate many customers especially for lunch and dinner.

THE FOOD
It was a great dinner I must say for I shared the table with two more bloggers Tiffany and Brian. I also met Ms. Irene who loves to read blogs.
Just before they serve the food, we were told that not all in the menu will be available the following day.
This Iced Hong Kong Milk Tea instantly became my favorite. I can taste the strong flavor of the tea, it's not too sweet yet creamy. Try drinking it from the cup instead of using the straw you’ll enjoy it as it touches your lips. Php75
They have hot and cold drinks so you may choose from soda, tea, coffee and juices. There’s also hk yingyong which I wasn’t able to try because I’m already full.
Japanese Mochi with Nuts and sesame seeds
with nuts, sesame seeds and a little sugar, it taste good! Served in bite size.

Of course, it’s not Chinese without the noodles. Xin Wang offers various noodle recipes – dry, fried, ramen, hofan just to mention a few.
Papaya Soup – a milky soup base served with pork and half hard boiled egg.
Dried Noodles with Spicy PorPork Chop and Fries – For people who wants western food, this restaurant offers Hong Kong style Western dishes like fish and chips, pork chop and fries, pork chop with fries and beans, spaghetti and pork chop and a lot more.

Xin Wang also offers snacks and light meals such as sandwiches, French bread and kaya toast which I heard taste really good. If you’re game for an ice adventure, try their famous Ice Series.
Thanks Xin Wang Hong Kong Café for inviting us to be part of the celebration. Special thanks to Ms. Lou and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Kong.
