I got to visit Eurocopter Philippines, Inc.. at the Subic Air Hangar in Pasay City for its Joint Marketing Event. Eurocopter Philippines and France’s Dassault Falcon will market the seven-seater helicopter and eight-seater Falcon jet to top executives, business leaders, CEOs, charter operators and big companies in the country.
Eurocopter Philippines, Inc. is a subsidiary of Eurocopter Group, a leader in helicopter manufacturing. As of 2012, there are over 60 Eurocopter helicopters flying in-country.
Before the tour, we were welcome by Eurocopter Philippines and Dassault Falcon’s executives. (From L-R: Ms. Belinda Nasikin, Director of Sales, Southeast Asia, Dassault Falcon; Mr. Jussi Hoikka, Commercial Director, Eurocopter Phil. Inc; Mr. Thierry Tea, President and CEO, Eurocopter Phil. Inc.)
Getting To Know Eurocopter Group:
The Franco-German-Spanish Eurocopter Group is a division of European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company (EADS), a world leader in aerospace and defense-related services. The Eurocopter Group employs approximately 20,000 people. The Group’s helicopters account for 33 percent of the worldwide civil and Para public fleet. Eurocopter’s strong international presence is ensured by its subsidiaries and participations in 21 countries.
Eurocopter’s worldwide network of service centers, training facilities, distributors and certified agents supports some 2,900 customers. There currently are more than 11,300 Eurocopter helicopters in service in 149 countries.
A Glimpse of the seven-seater helicopter
It has powerful engine, special tail which reduces noise. Helicopters are now being used for fast evacuation, to transfer goods from one place to another. It could be use for emergency medical system and tourism as well.
The versatile Falcons priced at $30 million are primarily designed as business jets however more than 150 Falcons are serving military and government roles as VIP transports, weapons system trainers, aerial photography and mapping platforms.
The Falcon family of jets can satisfy the broadest spectrum of business flying needs, from small-airport operation to long international flights.
Dassault Falcon 2000LX was launched at EBACE in May 2007, the 4,000nm Falcon 2000LX offers 5% additional range over the Falcon 2000EX EASy that it will replace entirely in 2010. The range improvement was the result of a joint project between Dassault and Seattle-based Aviation Partners International (API) for the development and installation of advanced high-mach blended winglets.
I realized the the country’s business has improving and becoming more stable. The two aircraft are not just for government or military purposes, CEO’s and top businessmen are interested with the Falcon 2000LX.
More than 60 Eurocopters has been flying in the country and 95% of their employees are Filipinos. With the team-up of these two big companies, there might be more job opportunities.
As I enjoyed the tour, it made me think of how lavish life could be owning a private jet such as the Falcon2000LX. I also realized what technology brings us, with all these luxurious and technology advanced aircraft in the world, who wouldn’t want to experience it!
