It’s been a while since I visited a weekend market and I am missing a lot of great food and home made products that can only be found in a weekend market.
I was invited in an intimated get together with foodies and organizers of the famous Legazpi Sunday Market. The said event, was about the new weekend street souk happening on four (4) consecutive Sundays starting September 23.
Eat, Shop and Mingle – Makati Street Market’s theme for this season provides a different food, shopping and social activities. Food and all other crafts, home decors are unique and often not seen in malls and department stores. There are organic produce too! And most of all, since this is an open-market, we can ask for the best price directly from the merchants and save a few peso.
- EAT: Join the festivity with local products and homegrown services available. Check out Mantequilla, Budbud Gourmet Suman, and Pinoy Ordurvz Foods for delicacies and Patika Beads.
- SHOP: Wiresworks for fashion accessories; and Creative Definitions, Bicol Sweetgrass Handcrafts, and All in Red Clay Factory for crafts and home decor.
- MINGLE: The market organizers set up pocket events for four consecutive Sundays starting September 23 to October 14. The said activities include grilling competitions, adobo festival, dance and cocktail events, and even biking workshops highlighting Makati’s landscape as a city that boasts of accessibility.
The Makati Street Market is located at the Legazpi Park in Makati City. The pocket events will run for four Sundays (September 23, September 30, October 7 and October 14), from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Interested sponsors may contact 0917-521-4624 or makatistreetmarket@gmail.comity.
