Upon the invitation of Zest Air, I spent a wonderful weekend in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. It's about 2 hours away from Manila and I'm glad to share that Zest Air now flies to Kota Kinabalu City after its successful inaugural flight last Friday, May 10, 2013.
Aside from Kota Kinabalu, Zest Air also launched its maiden flight from Manila to Kuala Lumpur and added a new domestic route, Manila to Bacolod.
Together with few bloggers and celebrity-music icon Mr. Jim Paredes and his wife, we left NAIA Terminal 4 (old domestic airport) pass 9:30 in the morning and arrived around 12 in the afternoon in Kota Kinabalu International Airport from flight Z2 501. The entire trip was good, weather is fair, everyone enjoyed almost two hours the entire trip.
It was my first time in Sabah and I had an amazing vacation visiting some tourist attractions including Palau Sapi and Palau Manukan, The Borneo Reef World and Mari-Mari Cultural Village. I had a memorable time in Kota Kinabalu where I experienced (without fear) seawalking, snorkeling and had my very first tattoo inked by a tribesman from Mari-Mari Cultural Village. I will share these stories on a separate blogposts.
We were welcome with a Malaysian-Borneo ethnic necklace, I got the blue one others have the orange color. The people warm and hospitable, just like the first time I visited Malaysia, particularly Kuala Lumpur during Zest Air's maiden flight to KL back in Oct of 2012.

At the arrival area we met Philip, our tour guide for the entire trip. Not too long, we were brought to Sutera Harbour Resort where we had a fantastic 2 nights, 3 days stay and enjoyed scrumptious Malaysian dishes.
