It was my second time in Malaysia, the first one was about 7 months ago in Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan, where I tried the homestay programme. Anyway, Kota Kinabalu is a nice place and I can't compare it to KL nor Negeri Sembilan.

I had an unforgettable underwater experience in Borneo Reef World, conquering my fear of the water and enjoyed sea-walking activity. You may read my blogpost, here.

Overall, we had a fantastic time in Kota Kinabalu visiting most shopping malls and the Sabah museum. Mari Mari Cultural Village provides you a brief history of Borneo ethnic culture. At the end of the tour you'll be entertained with Mari Mari's cultural dance performance. It's a unique experience and a must-see when in Sabah. Personally, our trip to Borneo Reef World highlights the entire trip because I was able to do, without fear what I usually can't like seawalking.

Before that, allow me to share our staycation in Pacific Sutera Hotel in Malaysia, one of the two hotels (the other one is the Magellan Sutera) that make up Sutera Harbour Resort. It's luxurious 5-star hotel in Kota Kinabalu complete with Golf & Country Club, marina, internationally renowned Mandara Spa and a host of recreational facilities.

Pacific Sutera Hotel Suite Review
I wanted to feel the comfort of our new home with their soft pillows and mattress. I got a nice room located at the 4th floor, sharing with a fellow blogger and friend, Ruth. Since we've known each other for quite sometime, we get along so easily. She's a nice person with good sense of humor. It was also an opportunity to get to know each other more. We even found out that most of our clothes have the same colors.

So anyhow, first thing that I noticed is the wooden window where you can peek from the bathroom. I personally like this concept however, there are guests who would still want the privacy when using the bathroom.
Premium Sutera toiletries complete with toothbrush and vanity kit. Inside the closet is an iron & ironing board, and in-room safe, bathrobes and slippers.
Our deluxe room has satellite/cable television, IDD telephone with bathroom connection. A walk-in shower & separate bathtub.
Good thing I had my laptop with me so I was able to work comfortably in the executive writing desk with broadband internet connection via LAN. Moreover, you can also use the strong WiFi connection.
Complete with coffee and tea making facility.
I did not want to leave the hotel without swimming at their beautiful landscaped pool.
The hotel is surrounded by palm trees and flowers it felt so refreshing.
Have you been to Kota Kinabalu? Perhaps, you would want to include Sabah in your travel list. Below are the links that will help you plan your itinerary, read my blog posts about Kota Kinabalu in Sabah. Thanks Pacific Sutera for having us.
