The second new beverage being offered by Starbucks is the Salted Caramel Mocha, a creamy mix of espresso and velvety steamed milk, blended with mocha sauce and toffee nut flavored syrup topped with whipped cream, buttery caramel sauce and a mixture of turbinado sugar and smoked sea salt. (Tall - ₱150, Grande- ₱165, Venti - ₱175)
I was excited to talk about these espresso beverages together with new food items I had - savory sandwiches and mouth-watering cakes.
As to the Ristretto Bianco, it's a latte using espresso Shots and the notable decorative latte art on top! Beautiful! (Tall - ₱145, Grande- ₱160, Venti - ₱170) It's rich, smooth and velvety espresso beverage. Whole milk is expertly steamed to create velvety 'microfoam'. Take note that Ristretto Bianco will be available for a limited time only, September 10 – November 1, 2013.
Husband had a tall size of the Salted Caramel Mocha so I was able to try it that afternoon. Between the two, the Salted Caramel Mocha was my favorite that afternoon.
New Starbucks Breakfast Sandwiches
Aside from new beverages, Starbucks released new sets of breakfast sandwiches. You can choose from four, all at P115.
- Spam Classic, Egg and Cheddar Cheese on Kaiser Bun
- Hungarian Sausage with egg and cheddar cheese on honey mustard bread
- Parma Ham with egg white and mozzarella on whole wheat bread
- Roasted Tomato with mozzarella and basil pesto on Italian bread.
I personally like the Spam Classic and the Roasted Tomato sandwiches. The latter is so light yet flavorful. I love the minty basil pesto, the melted mozzarella and the slow roasted juicy slices of tomatoes in it. The Parma ham is also tasty and with the scrambled egg whites, this sandwich has less fat.
We also had two slices of cakes, the Blueberry-licious Cheesecake (P130 for a slice, P1,450 for a whole cake) and the Guilt-free Indulgence Cake (P130 for a slice, P1,450 for a whole).
Other returning favorites are: Double Chocolate Fudge Bar (P50), and the Butterscotch Oat Fudge Bar (P60), the classic French Toast with maple flavored syrup (P95), the new Multigrain Honey Bagel (P45) which I tried few weeks ago and the Chicken Pastel Empanada (P90).
