A Memorable Trip Begins at Sofitel Manila

In this world, there is what we call a luxury hotel, a bed and breakfast hotel, resort hotel and many other types of hotel. When you book in a luxury hotel of course you should expect world-class services. Finding one overflowing with charm and equipped with the latest facility is so easy, browse the internet and viola you'll get a long list.

When we booked our hotel staycation in Sofitel Manila back in 2013, I never thought this journey would be one of the most memorable. To be honest, it's not my kind of hotel for the reason that it's quite far from our home in Quezon City. Why do we have to go out if we can relax at the comfort of our house. Besides, we have no car so we usually take the LRT when there's a need to rush often times we book a cab for ease and comfort. But hey! who doesn't want to experience world-class hotel services? Anyway, we deserve it once in a while.

Each of us has set of standards. My hubby and I both agreed that Sofitel offers a superb, world class service. I could list the many reasons but if you follow this blog, I guess there's no need to.

The food was fantastic! 21 dining ateliers, just a few steps and you're on the other side of the world still with people who were professional and very attentive. Every visit provides a different kind of experience. I fell in love with the overflowing dessert and chocolates, the overflowing cheese variants. Hubby and I repeatedly saying, Sofitel has the best tasting, melt-in-your-mouth bibingka we've ever tasted. Holy moly, every food station looked so good.

Finally, Spiral seriously knows how to spoil a woman, they have everything that makes dining experience truly wonderful. A fabulous selection of food. If you're on a diet, perhaps some tasty salad and fresh fruits, yogurts and fruit juices would make you happy.

Last year, we stayed at one of their first class rooms in Club Millesime. It has an exclusive club lounge. But let me tell you there's no big difference when it comes to "good customer services" whether you're in one of their superior rooms or first class suite; whether having a drink at Le Bar or enjoying a fantastic buffet breakfast/lunch/dinner at Spiral nor seating comfortably at their luxury spa lobby, Le Spa and Vietura

Each time we visit, we were treated as special guest, the way we were treated when we were upgraded as guest of the day. From the moment I stepped to the door to the moment I stepped out, the service was brilliant. The check in and check out were efficient and the concierge was very good assisting our needs. They made us feel welcome and at home. They have services that's hard to imitate.

We had numerous encounters of happy people greeting as you pass by "Bonjour Mabuhay". I have never experienced being ignored or ever felt discriminated. 

Let me just tell you, Sofitel Manila offers the best hotel beds I have ever slept in - soft pillows and duvet. Our room was immaculately clean and spotless.

The hotel continues to innovate, we had a chance to take a look at Sofitel Manila’s TV entertainment system using IPTV or internet protocol television. A system in which the shows you watch on television goes through an Internet network instead of the usual broadcasting such as cable.

ACENTIC provides the service to Sofitel Manila and uses SkyCable to deliver channels to its IPTV. Amongst other benefits includes guests access to movies as well as user interface delivering hotel information and displaying hotel services. 

You can also conveniently access your bill. Sofitel uses Smart TV and we learned that the system only has 56 channels covering local and international broadcast. 

Yes, they can offer more channel selection with its SkyCable subscription, but we were told it will not function well because the services uses bandwidth. 

The hotel only has channels that would cater the needs and lifestyles of most guests. Allow me to reiterate that Sofitel is a classic luxury hotel. I hope other hotels in the Metro would consider adopting the same system.

Blogging about issues (products and services, political, environmental, social etc) is not something I usually deal with unless it directly affects me as a consumer. Some of which I publicly expressed was the support to Speak Up and the issue on Anti-Cyber Crime Law. There were instances I also shared how I felt disappointed. More often, I would like to maintain a positive attitude when bad things happen in my life. It was not something you will learn overnight. I used to be too complaining that even the simplest things I would easily notice - an inattentive cashier, a dirty toilet, too peppery dish on my plate, too noisy restaurant, etc etc. Thank goodness I was blessed with a very humble husband, down to earth, God fearing and follower of Jesus who kept on reminding me to stay low profile and keep my patience as much as I can.

Something to ponder: "Mature believer thinks what's better and best. It's good to like people, it's best to love them. It's good to speak your mind it's best to mind what you speak."
