Livestock's Tender Pork Belly Stuffed with Fresh Herbs |
Hubby missed our hearty, meaty lunch date at Livestock Restaurant and Bar located in Sgt. Esguerra, Quezon City.
Meat lovers including him will surely appreciate a wide variety of delicious pork dishes at Livestock. Later on, I realized it's better that he did not make it to our lunch, lol! Hubby needs to lose weight.
Ching Uy, owner of Livestock Restaurant talked about her passion in the kitchen and how they come up with mouth-watering crispy pata. The family owns a farm somewhere in Bulacan and raising hogs has been their business thus Livestock specializes in pork dishes. You will be surprise that even the desserts have pork. I'm starting to get hungry as I write this article.
Came next was the Kangkong Sambal with Lechon P260.
Water spinach in a sauce of coconut milk and homemade hot and spicy sambal paste topped with Livestock crackling pork belly. I love the marriage of coconut milk and homemade hot and spicy sambal paste, it lingers in my mouth.

Livestock Crackling Pork Belly was my favorite. Tender pork belly stuffed with fresh herbs and roasted until crispy was the highlight of my meal. The herbs did its job well in adding more flavour. I can eat it as it is but it also comes with two fantastic sauces, I prefer the lechon sauce though.
Came next was the star of Livestock, the melt-in-your-mouth Crispy Pata served in a chopping board. Using a Popsicle stick, crispy pata will be divided into small pieces in just few seconds without much effort. Gone are the days eating tough pork pata.
I had the most tender, juicy, organic chicken meat when I visited Penalosa Organic Farm in Negros Occidental sometime last year. Today, I had one of crispiest and juiciest crispy pata I've ever had. I believe it's not a hidden secret anymore, many have had shared a wonderful dining experience.
We're not yet done with the pork. Our usual ice cream sandwich dessert just got even better. Four favorites in one plate - ice cream, French toast, caramel and bacon. Livestock's Bacon Ice Cream Sandwich (P180) was great.
We were served with hot ginger tea to remove the fatty flavor of all the food we ate. If you're living Makati or south area, Livestock is worth the effort and traffic. It's also a great family restaurant or just hanging around with colleagues.
What a unique menu!
