Matuto At Kumita Supports and Empowers Women

It was two years ago when I decided to focus on a particular niche for this blog LivingMarjorney. I felt the need to write and share stories that would inspire and encourage women embark on a journey to achieve their goals.

A lot of stories now are focused on women's lifestyle, fashion and beauty, I believe these are relevant in woman's life. I'm moving all food and travel related post on my SeatsForTwo.com (lifestyle blog for couples, husband and wife, boyfriend-girlfriend).  Although, I'm just starting to work on a particular niche, I believe it will come a time that I can finally reached out to a lot of women and share stories to #WomanInDigital.

Few months ago, I was invited to attend the Rotary Club of Gems induction of the new president, Ms. Prescy Yulo. Ms. Yulo is also the owner of Skin Rejuve, a beauty wellness clinic with more than a hundred employees mostly women.

Matuto at Kumita Livelihood Project

Aside from being a mom, wife, entrepreneur, Mrs. Prescy Yolo is a passionate advocate for women empowerment. She gave birth to Matuto at Kumita, a campaign that provides free intensive training to women who wants to learn and use their God-given talents. In cooperation with Skin Rejuve and Rotaract, a free facial treatment seminar was held that highlight the basic of taking care of the skin. Participants were given lecture on Proper Skin Care Regimen. A hands on training on basic facial treatment, including proper hygiene, proper facial massage, detox, lifting and toning techniques with just the use of hands. Alternative materials to use were also demonstrated since most of facial treatment machines are quite expensive.

Participants were given Facial Starter Kit that includes instruction card and complete product line from cleansing milk, toner, moisturizer, sun block. It also includes information were they can repurchase those products for refilling. For only Php 1,500 these women can immediately start to use it on a personal basis or start their own facial treatments. The kit can yield a total of 40 treatments, if charged at Php 200 minimum/treatment.

Matuto and Kumita recent seminar was made possible through Mrs. Prescy Yulo, President, Rotary Club Makati Gems in cooperation with Skin Rejuve and RCC of Bgy. Payatas, Quezon City; RCC of Bgy. Sto Nino ,Tarlac City; residents of Brgy Las Pinas, Paranaque  and the RCC of Tanauan Batangas. Indeed the advocacy has changed hundreds of lives. These empowered women can help their families husbands in financial needs. Today, they can apply what they learned from the beauty seminar on their own personal skin care regimen even starting their own facial spa treatments.
