Sightseeing in Otaru + Commenters of The Month Winners for April and May

It's been a while since I blogged about our Commenters of the Month. Just like some of us, Instagram and Facebook has been my easiest way to publish or announce our monthly winners. However, I still want to write even a short blog about the prizes and list down the names of the winners.

Otaru Canal, Hokkaido May 2019

I've been quite busy traveling and working on the blog. Not complaining, I am very happy with all the blessings coming on my way both here as a public figure/blogger and on my private life. We just arrived from Sapporo, Hokkaido about two weeks ago.

There are hundreds of photos that needed to be sorted out and placed in folders for easy access, I still have to work on some blog posts regarding Seats For Two Hokkaido trip while preparing two upcoming trips this June.

Otaru Orgel Museum

As promised, May Commenters of the Month will receive some pasalubong from Hokkaido. I did not have much time to do the shopping because most of our travel destinations are quite far from the city or shopping areas like Sapporo. On our first four days were spent in Otaru where you can find Otaru Canal and Orgel Museum were you can find beautiful Music Boxes.

Other things you can find in Otaru are quirky souvenir items. The Glass Factory in Otaru is a must-visit. You can make souvenir items made of glass, unfortunately we were quite late to pre-register and join the glass making activities.

Hokkaido Ice Cream

Hokkaido is known for dairy products so you would see ice cream stores everywhere. After spending four days in Otaru, we moved to Sapporo and stayed at Best Western Odori Koen. In Sapporo, I went shopping for pasalubong for family, friends and blog readers. If you follow me on IG, you've probably seen the prizes for IG Commenter of the Month (May) winner. Our winner on Facebook will also get almost the same prizes except for the necklace because she will be receiving the earrings instead.



I only had like 15 minutes to shop that night after visiting Mt. Moiwa. GU store in JR station closes at 9pm, we arrived quarter to nine. The next day we will be traveling to Biei or norther part of Hokkaido so I told myself, I have to maximize my time and do a little shopping for my blog followers.

How I choose the winners

I always look for relevant comments. It doesn't have to be that long, but it should be relevant to the photo. I always want to start a conversation and to get to know our readers as well. Hindi naman yun nag post lang ng "wow!" in fairness to others who leaves a nice comment.

I also look for consistency and frequency of visits, likes and shares. I really appreciate them so if she/he does not win, I am hoping they could make it the following month provided they still join the conversation and comment on the blog and social media posts.
