My Robinsons Fit & Fun Buddy Run Experience

Running is one of the fitness exercises my husband and I love to. We run-walk-run from Ayala Mall Cloverleaf to our home on Sundays. One of the running events we never miss to attend is the Robinsons Fit & Fun Buddy Run, now on its 12th year.

It's been four years when I started living a healthy lifestyle that includes eating organic food. This wellness journey started when I joined the Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Training Institute in organic farm tours where I learned why we should choose natural and organically grown fruits and vegetables over those grew with pesticide. 

Some people still have no idea about organic or having a hard time looking for supplies. Good thing finding organic vegetables in Manila is not that difficult. My go-to place for organic vegetables is Robinsons Supermarket. I'm happy that there's two branches near our place located in Z-Square mall and at the Ayala Malls Cloverleaf.

Roinsons Supermarket kicks off Nutrition Month with its annual Fit & Fun Buddy Run. It started with the 10km & 5km runs at 5:30am and 5:45am, respectively. Just like before, we joined the 5km run and finished it under an hour, a few minutes earlier than last year.

Robinsons Fit & Fun is always a fun run. You enjoy running with your buddy (spouse, parents, kids, sibling, or friend) as long as you run with a partner. I N S P I R A T I O N!

Just like most running events, the Buddy Run starts as early as 5am. I woke up earlier than the usual. I also joined the warm up exercises lead by fitness coaches Jim and Toni Saret. After the run, I felt a mild muscle pain and fatigue because we prepared for it with 3km practice two days prior to the event.

Joining the run are my siblings. Tina had two major + 1 minor renal/kidney surgery last year due to hydronephrosis congenital defect. My brother Marlon, on the other hand was recently diagnosed of Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) early this year (now controlled and on low dose of medicine after 5 months of treatment). Both of them enjoyed the 5km walk and slow run.
