Pinoy street food will always be part of our culture. Traveling to the Philippines would not be complete without trying the top Pinoy street food and there's one place you can enjoy them at the biggest street food festival - SM Hypermarket Street Food Festival.
At the recently concluded SM Hypermarket Street Food Festival, I got to taste all of my favorite Filipino food from goto, barbecue, tokwa't baboy (tofu with pork served in special sauce), ginataang halo-halo, kakanin or rice cakes, dinuguan, silog, kwek-kwek, and a lot more.
SM Hypermarket gathered the best of Pinoy street food and even more top food brands for its fourth year bringing bigger savings with tastier event-exclusive promos on favorites Knorr, Maggi, Purefoods, Alaska, Bounty Fresh, CDO, Century, Del Monte, Farm Fresh, Mekeni, and Joy. The roadshow’s stalls and booths that went around eight different SM Supermalls were overflowing with super sulit (italics for the Tagalog word) bundled packs, amazing freebies, and huge discounts bringing absolute value to event-goers’ shopping money..
Well-known street food such as Turon with Langka from SM Eats, Bulacan’s best eats from Bulacan Lugaw Kitchen, the leader in Mediterranean fast food Khaleb Shawarma, Bagnet perfection by Super Bagnet, extra special Gloria’s Goto, the major flavor Sgt. Sisig, indulgent Sam’s Everything on Sticks, extra cheesy Ate Rica’s Bacsilog, the isaw that got Katipunan shookt, Mang Larry’s and a whole lot more.
Customers and mall-goers were happy to see celebrities like Toni Gonzaga, Ruru Madrid, Derrick Monasterio, Bea Binene, Kaladkaren Davila, Kobe Paras and the Gilas Pilipinas Players and Chef Boy Logro. But what definitely stole the show was the way this year’s street food festival was kicked off; with a ceremonial cutting of world-renowned Chef Boy Logro’s 8-foot SM Markets Turon with Langka that was able to give first day shoppers a filling taste of Pinoy food excellence.

It was a fun-filled afternoon at the SM Hypermarket Street Food Festival. I also went home with an eco bag full of grocery items from various shops. Until next street food festival.
