I wouldn't mind spending a little more time and effort on good skin care. Even if I'm tired from work, I see to it to do routine skin care before going to bed.

Here are some tips so you can stick to your skincare regimen.
Minimal Routine - If you have a tight schedule, you may consider the minimalist approach and focus on the essentials. A three-step routine that can be completed under 10 minutes can be enough, as long as you make sure that the steps provide necessary care. This often includes cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen in the morning.
Moderate Routine - Adding a few more products like serums and exfoliants in your routine addresses targeted skin concerns while still maintaining a manageable routine that ideally lasts less than 15 minutes.
Comprehensive Routine - A more elaborate routine typically includes extra steps such as double cleansing, multiple serums, eye cream, and a facial mask. This routine is the way to go for those who want to take time to pamper themselves. For this, it is also important to remember that each step serves its purpose to avoid overwhelming the skin.
Addressing and Understanding Your Skin Needs
The first step in creating your skincare routine is by determining you skin type and identifying your skin concerns. Generally, there are 5 types - Normal, Dry, Oily, Combination, and Sensitive skin. Identifying your skin type can help you tailor the products that address the unique requirements of your skin to achieve that healthy glow.
Look for Products that Fit Your Budget
Skincare can be steep in cost, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s essential to prioritize where to spend and and where to save to be able to keep a consistent routine. You can choose products that serve many purposes such as cleansers that also offer gentle exfoliation, and even moisturizers that also have SPF to boost sun protection, which can act as an aid to your sunscreen, giving you an extra layer of protection. You may also look into products that have active ingredients like Vitamin C, Anti-oxidants and Niacinamide to ensure that your skin is getting as much nourishment with each product.
Y.O.U’s simple yet effective approach to keep your routine at hand is easy: “Protect and Repair”. This idea summarizes what our skin needs to achieve and maintain glowing, healthy skin from inside out. Follow the principle of “Protect” in the morning, which is all about giving your skin a layer of defense against pollutants, UV rays and other environmental stressors. Wearing and re-applying our sunscreens during the day is a must. At night, we follow the “Repair” principle, where our skin has the ability to repair itself. This routine is all about recovery as our skin is more receptive to active ingredients overnight, which also help to counterbalance increased moisture loss while we sleep.
Creating a skincare routine doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. By using a skincare-savvy schedule, focusing on your primary skin concerns, and using your skincare budget wisely, you can curate a routine that is both effective and sustainable. Remember, consistency is key.
